Membrane-based nitrogen generation equipment

Membrane-based nitrogen production technology operates on the principle that, under a pressure differential across the membrane, nitrogen and oxygen in air exhibit different solubilities and diffusion coefficients. Consequently, gases with higher permeation rates—such as water vapor and oxygen—pass through the membrane first, yielding an oxygen-enriched stream, while nitrogen, which permeates more slowly, remains behind and becomes concentrated, resulting in a dry, nitrogen-rich gas and achieving the separation of oxygen from nitrogen.

Membrane-based nitrogen production technology operates on the principle that, under a pressure differential across the membrane, nitrogen and oxygen in air exhibit different solubilities and diffusion coefficients. As a result, gases with higher permeation rates—such as water vapor and oxygen—pass through the membrane first, yielding an oxygen-enriched stream, while nitrogen, which permeates more slowly, remains behind and becomes concentrated, producing a dry, nitrogen-rich gas, thereby achieving oxygen–nitrogen separation.

Note: Nitrogen pressure is 0–1.2 MPa (gauge), while the feed compressed air pressure is 1.3 MPa (gauge). Design conditions are based on an ambient temperature of 0°C, an elevation of 0 m, and a relative humidity of 80%. These parameters are specified with the Pemex membrane as the design reference.
